This picture comes from Stafford (he took it himself). He writes: The gorges of Gali Ali Baig are the deepest canyons in the Middle East, a 1.5-hour drive north of Erbil. Spectacular always, at anytime of year. But at this time the water really flows.
Take a good walk from the main waterfall (not these) up to the huge spring of Baikhal, only 8 kilometers. The easier way is from Baikhal down to the waterfall. Every step is a breathtaking view.
